As much as i hate the self-absorbed-ness of "today, i did this" blog posts, i realise mine are increasingly steering that way..... kinda....and stuff.BUT.
The best advice i've ever heard* is to "write what you know best".
*slight to moderate exaggeration for emphasis purposes

I think posts that are 'personal' (and therefore what you know best) are fine, as long as they aren't reenactments of coffee-shop moments, with the writer urging you to understand how funny something that happened was, as if it will make me laugh to know how embarrassing it is to have my name read wrong (or something equally as un-extraordinary). I like your posts just fine.
